AN ENGLISH TEACHER - TO - BE 
( LET'S MARK ! )



We were given an essay by Miss Yoon entitled ‘A Scary Experience‘. It was an essay that written by her students.

When I read the essay, I found that the student have problem on expressing the real meaning of what she/ he wanted to express out with appropriate words. This problem really affects the students’ essay especially in constructing the sentences.

At first, I cannot understand what actually the student wanted to express. But then, I tried to read it repeatedly. The essay was actually still understandable. It was just that the student translated the sentences directly. Besides that, there were also some grammatical errors in this essay.


Therefore, my friends and I decided to give this essay 16/20.

One of your friend from Peninsular Malaysia is having a family vacation in Kota Kinabalu. She needs your help to show her the directions to go to Hyatt Regency Kinabalu Hotel from Jalan Haji Saman. Write a short e-mail to show her the direction. Your e-mail must consists of 60 words.

My title for the activity will be ' I LOVE RIVERS '

In order to expose and teach my students on ' ENVIRONMENT ' theme, I will bring some old newspapers that might contain the pictures of rivers in it. I will ask my student to find out the pictures of rivers and cut it off. Then, I'll ask them to paste in onto A4 papers.
Next, I will ask them to write The Advantages to keep the rivers clean  in order to build up their vocabulary and writing skills.

I’M A SURVIVOR !!!!


My friends and I were asked by Miss Yoon to play the game. Well actually, this is not a game since it was stated there that nobody is keeping score. Somehow, we have to choose whether to be an aid worker, survivor or journalist.


Firstly, I chose to be a survivor in this game. When I first clicked at the ‘Survivor’ option, it started to show me some pictures on what actually happening and there was also a voice that telling me the situation. Then, i'd been asked to make a decision on what to do next? In this case, I realized that I have to make a very BEST decision as it may affects others.   

SO NEXT.......

When the time comes, I'm going to use this game to do some activities in my students' writing development skills. 

HOW? 

1. Ask my students to go back and try out this game.
* list down all the words that they did not understand from the game.


2. In the next class, I will ask them to sound off all the words that they've listed down and discuss the meaning.
3. I will ask them to write their very own experience as any of the role that they had chosen.

I saw a lot of books arranged in the racks. There were thick, thin, new and also old books and also little number of people walking around and searching for books.
I could hear the sound of working air conditioner and people footsteps walking around the library, stepping on the stairs.
I can feel the peace of seeking knowledge. I also feel motivated when sitting here in library.
I could smell the smells of old books, and musty smells of the carpets.

She is asking her friend whether she had already taken her lunch and telling her friend that she is hungry.

DESCRIPTION :
Effah is sitting on a chair, facing her laptop. She is trying her best to finish her assignments although she was really tired and sleepy. Her face looked very pale and not energetic at all – maybe because she still had not taken her meal. She took her mobile phone, and sent her friend a message. She wanted to ask where her friend was at the moment. Effah was very hungry, so she asked her friend to come and take their lunch together at the nearest cafeteria.
